Abdessalam BENMAISSA, graduated of the University Paris-Sorbonne (Paris-IV), is currently Professor of Philosophy at Mohammed V University, Rabat, Morocco. He received his A.B. from Mohammed V University in 1977, his A.M. from Bordeaux-III University (France) in 1978, his PhD1 from Sorbonne University (Paris-IV) in 1982, and his PhD2 from the same University in 1990. Professor Ben Maissa was a Fulbright Research Fellow at Vassar College (New York) in 2001, and a visiting Professor at Bordeaux-III University (France) in 1999, at Lafayette College (Pennsylvania) 2004, at St Olaf College (Minnesota) 2004 and at Western Ontario University (Canada) 2013. His most known works are: Causality in Classical and Relativistic Physics (1994); Problems in Logic and Epistemology (2000); Aspects of Rational Thinking in Amazigh Culture (2005 and 2010). In 2003, Prof. BENMAISSA has been appointed Expert for the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education in The European Higher Education System LMD. In 2005, he received The Scientific Research Award from The Royal Amazigh Culture Institute (IRCAM). From 2005 through 2009 he served as Head of Department of Philosophy at UM5R. He is currently Director of the Research Laboratory in “Philosophy and Critical Thinking”, at UM5R, and the Holder of UNESCO Chair in “Philosophy and Critical Thinking” (896) at UM5R.
